fibroids and natural progesterone?

I am scheduled for a TLH on Feb. 22- I've been doing alot of research and I have found some articles on-line that suggest that taking natural progesterone will stop the growth and relieve the pain of fibriods. It also suggests that nat. pro. will help with the pain of endometriosis. I do not know if I have endo. It is my understanding that having exploritory surgery is the only way to find out if one has it. I am curious about this option. Has anyone tried this type of treatment prior to having to have a hysterectomy?

Progesterone is a treatment option for both fibroids and endometriosis. However, it may not cure either condition and each woman can have different results. But it can be worth trying since it could at least buy you some time while you determine if a hysterectomy is necessary for you.

You are correct, the only way to definitely diagnosis endometriosis is via surgery. Another thing you should know about endometriosis is that a hysterectomy is not a cure for this condition and you need a very skilled and knowledgeable surgeon to offer you optimal results as most GYNs are not able to completely and skillfully remove endometriosis.
