how much lifting????

Hopefully some of the Princesses further along than myself can answer this one as I am just curious.

At appx. the 4 month mark how much weight are you allowed to lift where it wouldn't cause any internal problems? I mean not like , but 50-60 lb items. I am self employed and can set my own work schedule and I should start working again in the fall (Sept) and was wondering ,would I be able to lift that amount a few times twice a day...if not , look out vacation here I come!

how much lifting????

It really does depend on your surgery, your age, your doctor and the state of your pelvic floor on this one, I think.
After my TVH due to a second prolapse, I was advised by the physio to avoid very heavy lifting for life if I could...she also said no woman should lift a very heavy vacuum cleaner up the stairs by the way!
After my recetocele repair 4 months ago I was instructed by the consultant to avoid very heavy lifting - like furniture and heavy garden debris - for life as I have a weak pelvic floor, not helped by 3 repair surgeries.
Sorry can't be more helpful.

how much lifting????

Hey Ladies
When I Went Back For My Six Week Check-up And Was Cleared To Go Back To Work, I Ask My Doctor If I Could Pick Up Some
Stones In My Yard She Said You Should Not Be Picking Up Stones Even If You Did Not Have A Hyster, They Are Not Very Big Stones But They Are Heavy.the Size Vary. I Was Just Gonig To Put Them Around My Mail Box. I Love Being In My Yard . My Hubby And Son Do The Cutting And Such And I Do Some Landscaping. That's What I Have To Say About Lifting. I Will Be 2 Months Post-op Tomorrow And Still Have Some Tenderness On The Left Side Of My Abdomen.

how much lifting????

I am at 4+ months now and am suprised that I have overdone it. I had a very good recovery, and planned my entry back into work (I'm a massage therapist) incrimentally. My stamina/energy had returned a couple of weeks ago, and I guess between that and just feeling so darned good, I forgot I had surgery. Lifting heavy planters on the deck, and working at my pre surgery capacity proved to be a bit much and now I'm feeling it. Your body will tell you if you overdo it. Good luck-K
