Weird pain questions....vaginal cuff and hammock

ok, I had some pressure feeling in my vagina, it felt almost like a dry tampon in there would this be the hammock that is holding the euretha?

Also I have read on the site mention of vaginal cuff, just curious maybe I'm naive... what is a vaginal cuff? I had pelvic reconstruct due to cervix being removed so is that what it means?

I've been fortunated to have no bleeding after surgery and I've been home for 1 week, I just want to be pro-active in knowing what to watch for since I read some post about vaginal cuff tears, and bleeding??

I had surgery a week before yours. Wow, you had a lot of repairs done. I have read a description of the vaginal cuff as the area behind the vagina that is stitched closed where the cervix was separated and removed.

The cuff is the top of the vaginal area. They remove the cervix from the vagina, and the top part of the vagina is stitched closed. It serves the purpose of closing off the vaginal cavity from the rest of the pelvis - just like the cervix used to...Does this make sense?

I've had a lot of cuff pain while it heals - I guess this is normal to a point.
