Insomnia hitting hard...

It's 4:30am.. again... and I am not the least bit tired. My plan for today was to get out of bed and stay out of bed unless I needed a nap. I'm also planning a short appearance at a BBQ Picnic this afternoon. I really hope I can get SOME sleep!! How is it that I can be so exhausted and not be sleepy??

I wanted to take a moment and give my thanks to Hystersisters for being here for me through these long nights and let everyone else reading this in the middle of the night that you are not alone!

Re: Insomnia hitting hard...

Boy are you NOT alone! I don't know how a person can be so tired and not sleep. It's frustrating! Also, I'm not too pleasant to be around if I don't get enough sleep.

My doc suggested melatonin which helped a little and I was able to sleep last night for a bit but this morning I feel groggy & nauseous. Don't know if the melatonin is the cause or if I did too much yesterday.

Fun stuff.

Re: Insomnia hitting hard...

I was able to sleep from 5-10, and I don't feel like I missed any sleep at all. So weird.

To update, it's 1:30pm and I have been out of bed all day! I'm on the couch now for a tummy rest and after the busy morning I've had will be taking pain meds to get through the BBQ later.

Even without sleeping, now that I'm up and about, I'm realizing that I feel better than I have in years. I am physically tired, but I'm not mentally exhausted, or emotionally exhausted and it's amazing (again, with no sleep). I have a renewed sense of life and I can't wait to celebrate that new life for the first time tonight! Will be taking it easy, I promise!!

Stay strong, ladies. There will be good days and bad days, but every week will be better and better.

Re: Insomnia hitting hard...

Insomnia is a demon!!!! It was pretty constant for me - it has tapered off, but there are still a couple nights a week where I simply can't sleep. My doc suggested Benadryl - it worked for a bit, but not so much anymore. I'm too scared to try a prescription sleep aid because I had a friend killed a few years back from sleep driving on ambien. It gets better!!!!

Re: Insomnia hitting hard...

I had my TVH March 9th and I have many sleepless nights but yesterday after getting 3 hrs of sleep the night before, I had my 1st day out of the house Went to walmart (rode the scooter) went to the mall (walked Sears) went to dinner and finally came home it was a 5 hour ordeal. BOY WAS I TIRED!!!!!!!!and I slept until 11:30 I couldn't believe it So maybe the activity was good I wouldn't suggest it being too much like I think I did, but I have been healing pretty well.
Good luck sisters hoping I get some more zzzzz's 2night
