Da Vinci Hysterectomy coming up (5/22), and so scared

Hi. Thanks for the positive posts about DvH. Mine is coming up very soon and I am starting to get nervous, too. I am enjoying reading some of the info on this website. It seems my days lately are cleaning and scrubbing the house and then taking breaks to read this site. From what I have gathered from a lot of the sisters is that this is the hardest part! Take care ya'll.

Thanks all for your responses and support here. It makes me happy to see a new response to my post. I'm really not afraid of the recovery as I am of going into surgery. That part just FREAKS ME OUT!!! I am going to be so scared. Hopefully I'll get a Xanax before I leave the house that day. I've been reading the Da Vinci stories on here, and for some reason it helps me to read the step-by-step descriptions ladies have posted about what happens once they arrive to the OR. I'm hoping that going over that scenario again and again in my mind will ease some of my anxiety. So I welcome your input on that as well. I am nervous though about my DH leaving town during the 2nd week of my recovery. Our kids are 9 & 11, so they're not little bitty or anything. Truth is that I'm still waiting for the doctors office to call and tell me my surgery date, I don't know what's taking them so long. I had requested May 22nd, but who know if I'll get it.

One more thing I wanted to ask: Can you all give me an estimate of how much to expect this surgery to cost after insurance? I'm waiting for the doctors office to call me about that too. My deductible has not been met. Realizing that everyone's insurance and situations are different, I'm just wondering about how much everyone else has paid for their Di Vinci after insurance.
