Has anyone had most of their "issues" go away?
So I've stopped bleeding, for now. Going on I guess about 3 weeks. Still am as huge as a beluga whale (no insult meant to my whale friends as I love them all), still have the abdominal pain off and on daily, lower back pain constantly but no freaking bleeding! What the heck?
Part of me wants to think it was the shock of finding out my deductible was not 2000.00 like my old insurance but now 5000.00-10,000. Like my body said, "Ok, I could put a down payment on a new truck for that" tee hee. I've got my pre-op with my gyn on April 12th but I just dread calling him and telling him "Hey, um, I'm not bleeding.........again". He's gonna love that. I'm not one for unnecessary surgery or spending a ton of money on a possibly useless organ-oh wait, I've already done that-but given my recurrence of fibroids, endo, polyps, I'm thinking I'm just in my usual remission and sure as heck, if I cancel the surgery, 2 weeks later I'll be bleeding like a stuck pig.
Anyone else had this happen or am I just spastic?
Oh, and Happy St. Patrick's Day late everyone!

Has anyone had most of their "issues" go away?
I had twice the cramps I usually have this month but my period ended a day early. My PMS was not as bad as it has been. I haven't spotted in almost 2 months! I was spotting at least once a week and right before my Gyn appointment it was nearly 3 full weeks of spotting every day or every other day.
Back pain still there.
I'll be so glad to get that extra pressure off of me.
It feels like I am in my 9th month waiting for the delivery date to hurry up.
Not sure if it is a mind thing, stress, or the uterus trying to suck up so I won't kick it out

My periods were lasting 8 - 13 days with lots of heavy bleeding and my last one before surgery only lasted 6 days. I think our uteruses are trying to trick us. I did the surgery and I am almost 6 weeks post op and will be very glad to not have to worry about periods this summer.

Has anyone had most of their "issues" go away?
Hi,
I can relate. Previous to going to see my Primary Md over a year ago for my yearly exam, I was bleeding like a stuck pig, with amazingly gross clots, for 2 weeks at a time. Then I would spot with occasional light bleeding unti my regular cycle came around. I thought it was just the premenopausal mess. Gross, nasty, and exhausting, but part of the process. Didn't even mention it to him. During several previous yearly exams they had mentioned fibroids, but I ignored that, as it wasn't causing any pain. Like you, I left well enough alone.Would have this time also, but his office called me frantically after getting the results of my blood work, telling me that I needed an immediate blood transufusion and a hytectomey. I thought he had lost his mind ! I insisted on another blood test, to make sure that it wasn't lab error. I felt fine, or at least what I think is fine. I had just lost 129 lbs, was exercising every day, feeling great. Test came back the same. My Hemocrit was at 7. His nurse asked if I was weak and tired. I told her not really. Just when i was bleeding heavily . Long story, short, my Gyn said that they see heavy bleeding all the time, and as long as my heart wasn't being overworked by the anemia, and I felt Ok,he wasn't as concerned. The insurance that I had elected, taking a calculated risk, was not meant for heavy use. So, together, my Dr and I decided after the ultra sound, and an appointment to check on it again in 4 months, to wait until 07 for anything else. The ultrasound did show a cyst on my left ovary that didn't look good. I was still having periods, so they were thinking it might be functional and resolve on its own.
So, here we are , come January, the new ultrasound shows the cyst has gotten larger, not disappeared, and the blood test shows I am still anemic, but not worse than before. Vary rarely have periods. Had one in September with the heavy bleeding , clotting thing, and I was so weak I couldn't get out of by bed for 2 days. Had a light period in Oct. This time just was tired. There's a woman in my office that is anemic and when her levels are low, she doesn't menustrate. As soon as they come back up, its like her body gives up the blood. Makes me wonder, if my levels are too low to have my period on a regular basis.
I kept wondering if the uterous thing would just self resolve if I would just wait it out. I am 54 after all. Last month, I had one night where I got a night sweat, but this week, I had 2 hot flash episodes. On the other hand this would have been a normal "period" week for me, and I did have some intense cramping, and some very limited bloody smearing. In the days prior to that, I had head rushes, that felt like the lights and sound of my life were being tuned down, to dim. Scared me! Then the almost nothing bloody smear, caused me to feel so weak, and tired, that I called in absent to work and slept half the day. I have constant low back pain, and the left side of my stomache hurts and gets pinched easily.
Like it or not, and definately don't like it, :confuse: I am going for my long put off appointment with the surgeon and the scalpel. Between my 1K dectuctible, and my 20% coinsurance from the surgery and tests, I could have purchased a hot tub, or put in the parquet flooring and went on a cruise. Those things will come in time though, and I have to be alive and healthy enough to enjoy them. Our health is our wealth. Good luck with decison.
