Re: Bleeding - Is it normal to NOT bleed?

I had some spotting the first day and nothing else. I am so relieved since pads irritate my skin so much. I finally got brave enough to try out the new panties I bought when I tossed out all of my period panties.

From what I'm reading those of us who had TAH procedures bleed less than the vaginal procedures...does it seem that way to you guys?

Re: Bleeding - Is it normal to NOT bleed?

I had manual surgery - a TAH.

A tiny bit of coloured discharge the day after surgery and never another drop of any discharge whatsoever! (7 months on, I don't expect any!)

I too had the pads ready.

At my pre-op. one of the surgical team I met said that the surgeon I would have "sews you up real tight!".

He must have! Never had any problems with the long incision, either.

Re: Bleeding - Is it normal to NOT bleed?

I never had any spotting or anything, but admit to still checking every time I go to the bathroom! I guess after all the years of periods, it's going to be a hard habit to break, checking the underwear. LOL

I didn't really expect any, since there seems to be nothing there to cause any bleeding, but when I read of so many others on here who have had spotting or lots of bleeding, I wondered too.

My doc sounds the same as yours. At my 2 week post op, she asked me if I had any bleeding and when I told her no, she said that's the way it should be. She must have sewn me up real good!
