Post-Op Nov 1st, 2013 vaginal

An update: My surgery will be 3 weeks ago this Friday. It has been slow and steady;began feeling quite a bit improved this past Sunday (16 days post-surgery).Had my first outing Sunday since the surgery- went shopping at large wholesaler warehouse with my husband & daughter. I used a motorized scooter which the store provides - this was the only way I could make it as could not walk the size of the place. We went out for dinner afterward. By the time I was home again, I was VERY tired, and had a dull soreness inside - felt like a good deal of pressure up inside.
Yesterday, 19 days post-op, went with my daughter (she drove) about 20 minutes away to a strip mall to visit 3 small stores. I walked the stores with her, slowly, not my usual pace. Then we had lunch out. We were out of the house for about 2 and a half hours. When I returned home, I slept HARD for 2 and a half hours! I feel good, just amazed how tired I yet get and how much of a dull sore can come on, up inside with a good amount of walking and on the feet time, or sitting up straight time. I know it is good to get some exercise, a little bit more walking each time I am out, but also to be careful about getting rest yet. The extended recovery time truly is necesary! I will return to work on December 16th, so I have been off work 3 weeks and have 3 weeks to go. My post-op doctor visit will take place December 3rd,

Re: Post-Op Nov 1st, 2013 vaginal

Hi RobynRF, my surgery was Nov 5th and I am in much the same recovery as you.

I am feeling way better pain wise and overall really, to what I was expecting.
But still have some discomfort, twinges and get tired easily, I think this is all normal.
My surgeon won't see me until 6 weeks post op. My plan was to go back to work after week 3 (I am a children's counsellor,) but I am not sure that is realistic, due to fatigue.

Trying to plan my next steps work wise. No pressure from work more my own commitment to my clients, as a potential 8 week gap in service is a long time.

Oh well I guess we have to remember to give ourselves time now and not risk a really extended leave.

Glad you are getting out and about a bit. Best wishes for a speedy recovery xxxx
