Does a Hysterectomy stop the PRE-Period PAINS?

The week before my period is JUST as bad as the period stuff is.
I feel an over-all body ache, especially in my legs.... my belling is bloated and achey.. I just feel AWFUL and out -of-it.... I drop things, can't focus... I feel this big huge body ACHE, aside from the crampy feeling in my uterus.

Will that go away after the surgery?
Or is that "hormones" ? ( I will keep my ovaries ).

VERY curious.. since this is a BIG issue of pain for me.

I sure hope it does. I think a hyst will help your pain if it comes from a problem with your uterus, like fibroids. I'm not a doc, but that sure sounds like what your pain is. I have fibroids and get pain most of the month. Lots of times the pain is in the upper thigh and crotch area (which I assume is because of the position of the fibroid).

Not to put a damper on things but....

If your problem is hormonal and they leave your ovaries, you will still have the same problems sans the bleeding. Of course, if your pain, etc. is caused by a fibroid that might not be the case.

I had a TAH/LSO almost 2 years ago. Always felt like you the week before my period -- then the period itself was 10-14 days long. I STILL have hormonal and PMS issues this far out!

It is something I would DEFINITELY discuss with your doctor. Good luck with your surgery and recovery!
