HELP!1 4 months post hysterectomy in Pain!!

Hi - I am 4 months post op from Lap. with Vag Assist only have one ovary. I was great about 2 months post op (got married and went on honeymoon and all was well!) Upon my return from my honeymoon I started bleeding and had intense pain which turned out to be an infection and the stiches were still in place. I did a round of antibiotics and got the all clear from the doctor, now I have constant pelvic pain and I am swollen. Doctor says its nothing to worry about that its just my normal bloating from hormones - I am 44 and peri-menopausal. I never bloated this bad with my periods, I am exhausted all the time. I am hoping that there are others out there experiencing the same or can tell me that this too shall pass?? Feeling frustrated!

I am so sorry to hear that you are facing this new challenge!
I think having had major surgery and keeping one or both ovaries puts us into a different place. The body/ovaries are trying to figure out what their new functionality is then they begin to create havoc. During my check last Friday, my doc said that if I could not handle things he'd put me on something (peri-menopausal also). Have you talked with your doctor? If he won't listen definately talk to your primary.

I have been there. I went to the ER and the doctor gave me pain pills. I went to my doctor, she gave me the same pills the ER doctor gave me but with a high strength. WOW

My doctor talk to the doctor that did the operation and she said that I was in pain when I came to see her. I was hot and mad. I took the pills my doctor gave me and I was still in pain.

After I was finish with the pills the doctor gave me. I did not take another pill till I needed one. My body was in pain I drank water and move on. I did improve and I only take a pill only when I can't take the pain.

Talk to your doctor about your pain. Some sisters on here have turn to pain doctor for help.

It will get better.
