Gearing up for LAVH on April 7th
After a year of jumping through the insurance hoop- I'm finally scheduled for my hysterectomy. But as I realize it's a month away- I'm trying to make sure the process for recovery goes as smooth as possible. I'm slightly OCD and a worry-wart which means I'm trying to make things easier for my live-in boyfriend and for myself when I come home. But at the same time, he's more laid back and I'm wanting to pre-plan things.
My doctor says that with my enlarged uterus, the double periods and the cysts, it's finally that time. So of course, I'll be having my ultrasound this coming Tuesday, my endometrial biopsy on March 25th to prep for surgery.
I guess I'm mostly worried on overdoing it. I'm known for getting a burst of energy and trying to get caught up on things before the energy leaves me. I don't know how I'm going to control my need to get things done and at the same time to get the rest and relaxation I need to heal.

Hi there! It's normal to be overly-anxious right now and worry about preparing for everything. Just be sure that you rest after surgery and don't overdo things.
I wish you the best on your surgery and recovery!

I know how you feel. I'm the same way about stuff, and drove my hubby a little crazy before surgery. Don't worry about being able to control yourself so much afterwards... your body will tell you how much you can do. You'll be able to do some stuff, as long as it's not lifting or twisting. Just take it easy, and let yourself rest. Don't forget to ice down your belly a few times a day. That will help a lot.
Good luck!
