Hi

Hello;

I am a post-op patient who had a abdominal hysterectomy 5 weeks ago, had my let ovary removed, had severe endemetriosis, glad it's over, but ever since my operation the bleeding never stopped, the nurse said you can have blood till 6-8 weeks post-op I want it to go away already I'm sick of it. Is this normal will it ever go away? I am not doing any lifting or any, but I did go back to work for which I need to, because I am a single mom with 2 kids and the income, my job consists of sitting only and no lifting. Hopefully someone will let me know here if it is normal to have pink-red bleeding, through my post-op.

Thanks,

post-op patient

Post-op bleeding - when does it stop?

My bleeding stopped at about three weeks. It went from blood red to brownish to clearish, then gone. You had a lot more work done than I did, so it may take a bit longer. Plus we don't all heal at the same rate. I know everytime I had a concern, the nurse always told me not to worry about it. Fat chance. You are also more active. My job is mostly sitting in front of a computer, but I am up walking around the office all day long.

Post-op bleeding - when does it stop?

I had my first bleeding two days ago at 3 weeks and my doc told me I had done too much the day before and to do nothing but rest the next day. (Of course, the too much I did was the ever exciting visit to the doctor!)

Post-op bleeding - when does it stop?

Bethel
I started bleeding one week out and continued until 6 weeks.
We are all different - just go with it, because when it does finally stop you know that it has stopped forever.
Best wishes,
Ritzley
