this is embarrassing and personal . . .

First of all, I can only ask this here. I've tried to figure this out on my own, but I give up. I'm sorry for the excess information. I'll explain as delicately as I can.

I had an LSH 10/18, and at two weeks I had more drive than I'd had for a long time. I also had the doctor's okay, so . . . It was good. Very good. That lasted about a week. Now it's another story. I usually can't "get there," and when I do it's a lot of work and not much result. I don't know what to do. Taking more time doesn't work--we tried that. That just results in pain.

Are my expectations too high after surgery? I still have ovaries, but they seem a little cranky right now. Hormone tests say I'm fine, but I don't seem fine to me! I just don't know where to go from here.

Any suggestions?

This is just a wild guess...I am a single parent with no one in my life so I haven't had any experience in this area. But I would try a couple of things. First of all even though they say your hormones are fine I would think about taking a soy suppliment and see if that won't boost things along. Secondly maybe try reading a hot romance before bed or watching a steamy movie. The only other thing would be to see a different dr for another opinion. I hope things get better in that department!

I'm dealing with the same thing!! At first sex was really good.........like before the hyst. I'm on the estrogen patch therefore vaginal dryness isn't a problem. But now....there's NO desire at all, and my response is Null and Void!! I'm completely devastated by this. I have a call into my doctor right now and am hoping that maybe some testosterone can be prescribed (ANYTHING to help me get back to the me I was before).

Question.. what type of tests do they do to determine if your hormone levels are ok? And can that fix a low sex drive?

At least we're not alone in all this hormonal confusion!! Any other "low libido ladies" out there?

I had a low libido before but now also have less feeling associated with the big "O." Now I would say it's a little "o."

"O" well,

I'm 8 weeks out. My bf (DH) hasn't come near me yet (or in over a year . I don't have much of a "drive" lately anyway (which is probably a good thing considering my home life).

Oh well, I guess when my energy comes back I can save it for my second job....

Even when I have the drive, the response is not the same. Libido isn't great, but even when I'm "in the mood" I don't react like I should. It's frustrating and a little depressing. I hope it passes eventually!

jyn--About the tests to check hormone levels--just blood tests. In my case, the doctor did them because I don't feel quite like myself emotionally.

I have not had a sex drive for ever it seems. My dh is like an 18 yo. It is hard when he wants it sooooo much and I could care less. I am only at week 3. I am hoping that when we do try out the new body it will feel better and I will want to more. But at least I am not alone.
