4 weeks post op hysterectomy

I got LAVH done with removal of one ovary on 16 May. so this is my 4th week post op. I am doing well overall. but stil have problems emptying my bladder, feel strain while passing urine and get a swelly belly on and off. my pain was progressively improving, but has got worse since 3 days.

yesterday I tried to sit for longer, thinking now I have to slowly transition into 8 hours of sitting to ease into work after 6 weeks. but my abdo pain increased and I had a swelly belly. so i thought let me get myself checked today.

I asked for an appointment today with my gyenc. my gynec was quite rude and said the belly looks fine. and to take it out of my mind that there is anything wrong. he said I can do everything now. no restrictions on anything..he said just deal with tiredness and pain as you would normally deal with it. rest a little, may be take a pill and when you feel better, continue. I am relieved that I can resume all activities and that I do not have to worry if I get pain. just accept that if I overdo, I will get pain and should rest a little after that. but my gyne was quite rude. he said stop complaining now....I felt bad that I went today, I felt like crying when I walked out of his office. he could have said the same thing a bit nicely. he could have said pain is normal, will continue for xx months, but that should not stop you from carrying out your life as normal....oh well.

but i wanted to ask the other hystersisters who have gone through LAVH on how they felt in their 4th week and what were they advised? did life return to normal after 4 weeks? How long does the pain continue and how have you altered your life? Thanks!!!

Re: 4 weeks post op hysterectomy

Only one week post-op here, so I can't say how I'll feel at four weeks, but I wanted to say it sucks that your doctor made you feel that way. I hope you feel better soon, but from everything I've read on here, it's totally normal if you're not 100% for a while yet, so don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it, and I hope the doctor didn't make you feel like you can't contact him again if you feel like something's wrong.
