just so exhausted after hysterectomy

I am 22 days post op and I try to do something small everyday. I am exhausted after that and am on the couch for hours after. Is anyone feeling this way also being 3 full weeks in?

All I know that this is a major surgery and the healing process takes time! Relax one day we will look back and laugh!!!

Yes. I am almost 5 weeks post op and I still get tired although not nearly as often and not nearly as bad. At three weeks when I would get tired I had to lie down NOW lol and sleep. It would hit me all of a sudden. Even at almost 5 weeks and I feel like I'm almost completely recovered, people are telling me I'm not haha. I still don't lift anything or pull on anything or take stairs....that kind of thing but I feel amazing now. It will get better.

Tired comes and goes for a while. Week 3 was the worse for me!! Listen to your body, it is telling you what it needs. Give it. And if you are having trouble being "lazy" (reality, we are women, if we arent busy we see ourselves as lazy), remember you only have a little longer before you are back in rhe real world, take advantage of the rest time while you have it.

Fell the same way. Hard for my kids and hubby to realize I am in fact still healing

Fatigue is the norm. I still get tired everyday and must stop and rest. I have yet to have a day without an episode of fatigue!

You are in good company.... By week 5, you may start to feel a bit better but not nearly 100%. I have found that a lot of people do not understand that trauma that your body went thru and how hard your body is fighting to get back on it's feet. Rest as much as you can as we need it... Before you know it the holidays will be around the corner and we'll need all of our powers. Good luck - Now time for a nap
