Swelling still after 4 weeks post hysterectomy

Hello, I am still having swelling issues after 4 weeks post op and I was wondering when should the swelling stop. I have not been able to get into any of my pants. My attire has been sweat pants. I do not feel like going out because I can not find anything to wear. Can someone relate to what I am going through. Any advice ?:

Re: Swelling still after 4 weeks post op

The tummy swelling has a nickname and its own emoji - swelly belly ! It's what brought me to this site. If you think of any injury (broken arm, sprained ankle, burn), fluids gather around the inflammation as a part of the healing process. Lucky us, that inflammation and fluids are in our tummies You can read more at Tummy Care - Swelly Belly. My doctor said by week 8 I should notice it less and I did, but I'd still get it when I resumed an activity for the first time, or did something which really used my core. Last time at the mat with it was at 5 months. Best thing when it got the better of me was to rest in a reclining position, allowing both my back, tummy and core to relax.

Once I realized Swelly was going to be my companion for a while, I updated my wardrobe to find some comfy but nice expando-waist clothes. Shopping spree, woo-hoo! Manufacturers still make the housewife kind of elastic-waist pants our grandmas used to wear, but you can really find some very up-to-date fashions out there. I still wear the items I got because they're not dowdy.

Re: Swelling still after 4 weeks post op

My "swelly belly" lasted about three months after surgery, although in the last month it consisted only of some minor abdominal swelling in the evenings. It really does take the tissues that long to heal.

Swelling still after 4 weeks post hysterectomy

I am 4 weeks TAH and still have swelly belly. It's worst when my activity has been a lot throughout the day. I ended up breaking down and getting some of the elastic waist pants. My normal pants fit per se, but they aren't comfortable on my incision. From what I've read, 5-6 months seems to be when it goes away
