5 weeks!

Well, I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow, and I will be starting my NEW job tomorrow! I am SOOOOOO excited about the whole thing. I'll have a nice big newly decorated office and a newly created job. I'm hoping that this is my new "home" away from home until I can retire.

My recovery is going great. My abdominal scar is basically healed, and the underlying "zipper" seems to be much less, but my swelly belly seems to much more like jelly belly these days. I no longer need pain meds at all. So far my hormones - vivelle dot .05 - is working great and I have not had any problems with the adhesive or the actual meds for allergies. I have driven a few times so I'm feeling comfortable behind the wheel. I am not cleared for relations with my DH yet, but have another appointment with my Dr in 2 weeks to check on the cuff's healing progress. I hope I'm cleared by 9 weeks as it will be DH and my 24th anniversary.

Am I happy I did this? I have not bled for 34 days straight, normally I would have bled for 32 of those 34 days so YES, I'm extremely happy about it. I'm feeling normal now and it's been a long time since I did! I'm entering a new phase in my life and I truly believe it's going to be wonderful. I'm not saying it will be perfect, by no means, but I am healthier, and with the new job, I think I'll be happier than I've been for a long time as well.

Good luck to all others at 5 weeks, beyond and not there quite yet. Take care of yourself and continued uneventful recoveries to all!
