Advice and help

Hey....

So I am 3 weeks post op now. I know that I have overdone it...I completely know it...

I have a family that has an expectation that I am superwoman and can do it all...why? Because I am superwoman and do it all...it's me. It's what I do....

I am trying to stay down...hubby was recently laid off and we are getting ready to move. This is a very good thing...but I don't feel that he is being supportive of this time I need. I know that we are getting ready to leave, but there isn't much that I can do...

If I don't get up and make breakfast....no one eats. This goes for the rest of the meals for the day and all snacks....

I need help! Advice anyone?

Re: Advice and help

You need to realize that if you don't take the time for yourself, you risk ending up with permanent complications such as on-going pelvic pain, adhesions, and so on. These few weeks of healing are critical to your future health and well-being. I would suggest that you make breakfast, lunch and dinner for yourself only and then retreat to your room and close the door. Tell the gang that this is doctor's orders and if they don't believe you, to phone the doctor themselves and ask. As to moving, I would suggest that if they aren't willing to do it themselves, hire a moving company but in no circumstances, should you be lifting or helping in this move. Sorry I got on my soap box but I really care about what happens to you and want the best recovery for you possible.

Re: Advice and help

Thank you so much for your advice. I needed to head it exactly like that....I like the idea of retreating to my bedroom. I've made a little bed on the couch...I think I'll move to the room instead.

It's been so frustrating. I wish he would help more. I wish I could just say something, but I didn't know how to do it....

I hope I haven't caused any problems with what I've done so far....
