pre op today

Well I went to my pre op and everything is good and set with the exception of one thing.... Back when this started in February I had a blood test for thyroid and my thyroid T4 was normal but TSH a little high. So They rechecked in march and the T4 was normal but they want to do a T3 and T4 don't know what those mean but if it's out of whack surgery will be postponed. .. Until It's under control. Ugh...I Don't want to wait any longer now that I've accepted doing this. 😕 I hope it comes back fine and this was just a rant session.

Re: pre op today

I suffer from hypothyroidism but just got my levels checked in September and they were good. My gyn didn't say anything about it. I don't know why that would postpone surgery though, but what do i know. lol

pre op today

She mentioned if your thyroid levels are not right then surgery can make things worse. They would want to get them under control first.

Re: pre op today

They checked mine that morning to know the tsh reading. I was told it affects the anesthesia so the anesthesiologist needs to know the level to adjust the drugs.
