TAH Driving?

I asked my Dr. about my driving restrictions and he said he has no problem with me driving if I felt up to it. Point is, I don't. My hubby was with me and he just seems like it is such a burden to bring me to my appointments so I asked. It is a burden to depend on someone to get you around, especially since 11/9. As I posted in the recovery post, I still have retention sutures and external incision sutures. These won't be removed until the 18th. I have an office luncheon this Thursday that I would love to attend. I can barely walk let alone drive. Getting in and out the vehicle is a challenge in itself. Any thoughts or recommendations?

My Dr told me I had to be able to bend without pains so I could see to change lanes. I had to be ble to atomp on the brake in case I had to do an emergency stop.

If yiu are involved in an accident and it was determined that you werwn't fully able to control yur vehicle due to your surgery you could be cited and it could be anissue for your insurance.

If you aren't ready you are not just risking your recovery but you are risking others safety.

Even when I did start driving I had a pillow between me and the seatbelt for quite sometime to reduce the pull and tension on my abdomen.
