There are no silly questions!

Ladies~

I am no expert on hysterectomies, having yet to go through with mine. But I've noticed lately that lots of you are starting out by apologizing for asking what you think are silly questions. No question is silly or petty. Any "tiny" thing that stresses you out after a major operation is a struggle. Think about how you would feel, coming out of anesthesia and not having pillows to prop yourself up with (ouch!), food that you can't eat, if you have an appetite (I always do, no matter what I'm having done!!), nothing comforting to wear after you shower for the first time (who wants to put on that yucky gown again?!?), and too many or too few visitors ( ). All of these things, and a million things more, MATTER. Ask for everyone's opinions. They'll give them and then you'll decide how you feel and go forward from there.

I've had many surgeries, a few of them really major, and I'm here to tell you that every bit of prep work you do to ready yourself physically, mentally and emotionally WILL count!! It will help you to have the little things around you that comfort you. Whether you are at the castle for one day or several, have complications or sail through, getting it all together as well as you can helps more than you will realize. This site is one of the best ways to help get yourself prepared. It has women that have had every experience it is possible to have in relation to this procedure and they will TELL YOU ABOUT IT!!

Don't be afraid to ask!! In the end, no matter how much is out of your control, the things you CAN control will help you feel better. Let the ladies who know help you. Anyone here would tell you that any question is a valid one, if you have it! Good luck to all the ladies in waiting and THANK YOU to all of the punctured princesses who hang out here, constantly offering us help and hope!!
