One week post Hysterectomy and appendectomy at the same time? Normal to feel stabbing pain?

Have any of your had your appendix removed the same time as your hysterectomy?
I'm one week post op. Have little to no appetite, alternating between diarrhea and constipation (mostly diarrhea). I have IBS, so I'm familiar with that, but I'm also having terrible stabbing pain on my right side, where I think my appendix was. It's not constant. Otherwise, the overall healing process is going great!
I'm thinking of calling the dr on Monday, but I wanted to see if anyone else can relate. Thanks.

I had sharp pain a couple weeks after surgery that was diagnosed as a UTI, but it was so long ago I can't remember which side it was on.

Stabbing pain is something I would call the surgeon about. You could be dealing with a complication.

Do you have any other symptoms? Fever?

No fever at all. Alternating between diarrhea and constipation.

Ugh. I just called the after hours number and apparently they don't have an on call OB anymore??? They said they send patients to the ER. Makes no sense.

I know of other doctors who are no longer keeping a doctor on call.

You might be able to try an Urgent Care, but you could still end up in the ER since you've just had surgery.

Oh ok. They used to be able to reach the on call OB, but not anymore.
My insurance pretty much limits me to one urgent care place in this town and they are affiliated with the hospital, but they will send me to the ER on the weekend. Been there a few times prior to hysterectomy.
I don't have a ride and I live 20 miles outside the city. I'm trying to wait till my husband gets home tonight, but for now, the pain has died down.

With your surgery so recent, were you given a number at the hospital for a nurse? Many hospitals these days have a nurse follow up with patients, so maybe one of them might be able to help.
