need advice (kids mentioned)

I had a TAH/BSO aug 3rd,09 and had to stay 3 nights, the doc even told me prior to surgery that you HAVE to stay for 2-4 nights, why are you not staying? You WILLNOT be able to take care of children by yourself, after many weeks alot of women still have some sort of pain and tiredness, read the post op threads and you will get a idea what us women go thru after surgery. good luck and well wishes

I am having a LSH done and my doctor is doing it as an outpatient surgery, at a surgery center. I am going to be completely alone after day 5 as my husband is going back to work. I really hope that I can do this!!

An LSH is a bit better than a full abdominal incision but remember it is still major surgery. Be very, very careful.

You are going to have a lot of restrictions from your doctor & one of them is no lifting over 10 lbs. Get a step stool for the kids so they can climb up & keep a pillow on your tummy so they don't accidentally hurt you. I could not have taken care of myself for that first week but I guess we do what we have to do. Please try to take it easy & take help where ever you can get it.
