Re: I will be alone....any tips????

My top tips: (some have already been mentioned)
1) tape your phone charger onto your night table with masking tape so you don't have to bend down to plug your phone it.
2) keep a pad of paper/pen to write down when you take your medications. Set your alarm so you take your pain medication on time to stay ahead of pain during the first few days.
3) keep some saltine crackers on your night table so you can eat a couple before taking meds.
4) water bottle with a straw in it so that you can sip the water without having to sit up.
5) take colace stool softener as prescribed. once or twice daily. (I can't remember)
Drink as much water as you can. Keep moving as soon as you can - walk. Walk around your house. I didn't need Miralax but I know that was helpful to others. I took a probiotic every day and ate plain yogurt, oatmeal, high fiber toast, berries, etc. to get my system going. Fine on day 3.
6) watch the youtube video about how to get out of bed after a hysterectomy. It was very helpful to me the first week or so.
Good luck tomorrow - you'll do great! Keep us posted.

Re: I will be alone....any tips????

Oh, my heart goes out to you! I had help but found using a pair of kitchen tongs useful. I had a grabber too but the tongs are great for picking small items just beyond reach or something you dropped. Also great for getting laundry out of the machine. Here's to a quick recovery! Hugs!
