Lap assisted vaginal hysterectomy turned into abdominal hysterectomy

Lavh turned in to tah. We knew this was a possibility, but I'm still really disappointed.

The time will pass, and you will recover -- I promise. It's ugly to wake up from surgery with a surprise of this magnitude, but it WILL be in the past, a day at a time. I had a TAH last Halloween, and while you feel like you got hit by a truck initially, you will recover day by day. Hang in there. *hug*

I'm sorry your surgery didn't go quite as planned. Hang in there and take extra care of yourself! I hope you have a smooth recovery!

Same thing happened to me. I had been sick for so so long that I had accepted the switch would happen before I even went on to surgery. I had to switch to avoid damage to my bladder that was fused to my uterus. Keep in your mind that this is part of your healing, not a setback. You get to move forward to feeling better now.

It's been about a week since the same thing happened to me. Everyday I feel better and better. Before surgery everyday I felt worse. You will make it through and feel better too.
