What did you wear home from the castle?

I wore a loose fitting cotton knit dress...kinda felt like t-shirt material and had an empire waist with a string tie in back. I also wore good fitting, non-slip sole, slip on sandals <- did that make sense? I had some loose underwear that I wore for the trip home, but removed once I got home. I became a firm believer in going "commando" post op

What did you wear home from the castle?

i wore drawstring old navy sleep pants and a t-shirt. my first few days i fou nd drawstring VERY important. i was swollen, and i could not wear anything with a zipper for about a week, the zipper hit my incision and just did not feel right. drawstring was a huge help, i seemed more swollen after i ate, so i could loosen and tighten as needed. anything elastic was not something i wanted wither, because there was no room to adjust. i wore the same thing home as i wore there, i had a 6:30 AM surgery, and only wore it for the 2 hour trip there! i wore the gown in the hopspital, and had a thick terry cloth robe (it was cold) my husband took me for walks outside the night of my surgery, i hate being in the hospital, so he gave me a change of scenery! i took my favorite slip on sandals and socks (not pretty together, but i was not at a fashion show...LOL)

What did you wear home from the castle?

I had a TAH on May 12th and things around my waist are still not comfortable. I have an incision from the bottom of my belly button down into my pubic hairline; about 5-6 inches long. I have lived in night gowns since the surgery. Between the incision and the swelly belly, PJs are just not working for me.

I went to the hospital in a loose fitting dress, thinking I would just wear it home. I ended up going home in my nightgown and robe. After everything was said and done and they were willing to let me go home, I just did not care what I looked like (it was night and dark too). Plus, it took so much out of me to do anything, I thought what was the point in getting dressed just to go home and get back in a nightie

The good news is that the pain and pure exhaustion does pass and each hour/day you feel better.

Good Luck to you

It never fails!

I had 2 cotton, airy, full dresses that I had gotten from Costco a couple years back. They would have been perfect. But, I just got rid of them a few months ago. My DD's both made fun of me about them because they had fruit on them. They gave me such a bad time that I ended up never wearing them, and they were sooo comfortable.

Isn't that just the way it goes?! They would really come in handy right now. I found a cotton lounge dress at Wal-Mart today, but I have to take it back tomorrow and get a bigger size. As usual, the darn thing doesn't fit around my boobs! I also found a really comfortable pair of pjs that have drawstring waist, and also a soft lounge type bra at Mervyn's.

I think I'll be okay with those. Thanks ladies for all the ideas. It really helps.
