Insurance headache...

Hi there! I'm having my surgery on Tuesday April 17th. The doctor's office was nice enough to move it up by one week because of all the pain I'm having, but now, my insurance has not granted approval yet. There are 2 business days before thr surgery and they're still asking for more info. I'm totally frustrated. Any thoughts???

Try to save the first date you had and play their game just to get it done. Sorry your pain will be extended while they do it. However, it is a worse headache to get them to reimburse you later and you will have enough to deal with just recovering.
Good luck

May I ask what insurance company you have? <No insurance names, please, as per the site Guidelines>
I ask because I work in a surgeons office and I know that we get 97% of our approvals the day prior to surgery. But it al depends on the insurance company.

I wasn't cleared until 45 minutes before I walked into my pre-op visit about 2 days before surgery. I was glad I hadn't been told they were having difficulty getting approval. Ask your Dr. to write a letter to help speed things along. Mine basically told them that we had tried other options, they failed and there was really no other option for me. He said that it was not uncommon to have to do this. So maybe that will help you out. I hope you are able to keep the early date so you can stop your pain and start feeling better again soon. Wishing you luck and sending you a big .
