Day 12... Swollen but moving around without huge pain
Hi girls. This is my first post. Today is day 12 for me. Overall, I'm not in huge amounts of pain. I've been off all pain relief since day four, walking on day two. My stomach is still swollen, much more so on the left side where the larger incission is. On day 8 stitches were removed and since then I feel like I need to pee all the time. If I'm up too long, there is burning on the left side, which a flag to embrace the couch potato position more. Sleep was difficult at first, due to the need to sleep on my back. I'm finally sleeping better.
I only had a partial hysterectomy, hence the speeder recovery time. Doctor said two - three weeks. I'm a bit lost on boundaries and limits. I'm spending my days between bed and sofa, but wonder if I should be doing more. The constant need to pee and the burning have me a bit concerned.
Anyone out there with a similar story?

Re: Day 12... Swollen but moving around without huge pain
I had an LSH a month ago. I've been pleased with the way that my body has felt a little better every day. I had days when I had to pee really often, but not all the time. Do you feel like going for walks? there have been times when i was having pain and it seemed like walking around gave my back and everything a chance to stretch out and the pain eased.
But i did not want to bend over, and still don't too much,
it doesn't feel right, the same with twisting my torso.
and now i can wash dishes, but two weeks ago, it hurt to
hunch over the sink. kind of try and see, but go easy : )

Re: Day 12... Swollen but moving around without huge pain
Thanks good coffee. Admittedly, my walking has been just around the house. Not sure how much I should push it. Today is day 12. I find the more I'm up, the more swelling and pressure on the bladder and burning at the incision. I'm pretty clueless on what to expect and accept as 'normal'. When I asked the surgeon about guidelines, he said "running a 4 min mole is too much...and if it hurts, don't do it". That's it. Men (tehe)! I'm on this site to find comfort in what to expect and guidelines for how much I should do. I have another week and a half off from work and hope I'm good to go then. Gulp.
