post op shaking chills

I had TVH(kept both ovaries) on Wed. 1/14/09. I have been suffering shaking chills since yesterday afternoon. Temp is normal, however I'm alternating between norco(with tylenol in it) and advil aroung the clock. The shaking is so intense it's actually painful at times. Any suggestions? Is this infection on hormones? Please help.

Sorry, but this sounds like an infection to me. I would give the Dr a call.

Many people get the chills post surgery... I think it has something to do with the anesthetic... that being said, I am not a doctor and this is just my opinion..... Just wanted to let you know that I and many others have had this problem.. It seemed to me like it lasted about 3 wks.
I stayed in bed a lot during this period, bundled up in the covers... I too did not have a fever.

While it could be a reaction to anethesia/meds, it could also be a sign of infection... even without fever. I would call your doctor's service to see what he/she wants you to do. If they even suspect an infection, do not be surprised if they tell you to go to the ER.
