LAVH: Home same day

Does anyone know if they get to go home or got to home the same day as their surgery? If so what was required of you to do so? I would really prefer not to have to stay overnight. I'll have an LAVH removing everything and they are using a morphine epidural .

I had a LAVH on August 26th. I lost everything but my left ovary and also had a bladder sling done. I was out of recovery and in my room around noon and was able to go home that night. I just had to wait for the cath to come out at 5pm. Once I was able to use the bathroom and walk around, I was released. We made it home to my Mom's around 9pm that night. It was up to me whether I stayed the night and I figured I could lay in bed and take my meds a lot more compfortably at my mom's instead of the hospital.

I had minimally invasive LAVH and came home the same day. I went into the OR just after 8am and was home at 5pm. I liked that I came home the same day. I was definitely more relaxed at home and restex better.

My surgeon's usual routine is to send patients home the same day so I didn't have to ask or do anything special. The urinary catheter was removed before I woke up....I had general anesthesia for my surgery.

I am scheduled for a lavh in two weeks. The scheduler told me I am staying overnight in the hospital.

They told me that as well, but as soon as I was in my room the nurse told me that I could go home after I did what I was supposed to.
