9 days post-op

Hello ladies, I'm new to this community. I had robotic hysterectomy 9 days ago. I had my cervix, left ovary and pelvic lymph nodes removed also. Right ovary and a 3lb, 20cm borderline tumor was removed in January. I'm scared of every pain I have these days, I'm hoping to find some comfort in this site. I'm happy to have found it! any advice for these first few weeks after surgery? Thank you!

Re: 9 days post-op

Thank you, I hope you're recovering well! I've been doing good, I've been walking and resting a lot. Every day seems to bring a new pain, nothing severe though.

Re: 9 days post-op

Hi. I am 5 1/2 weeks lost of from radical robotic hyst. I had complications first week. wasn't able to have a bm and dr told me to drink a little milk of mag. Bad idea considering bowels were still "asleep" from surgery. Ended up with horrible stomach pain, diarrhea that was like fire, and eventually non stop throwing up that sent me to ER and eventually back to the hospital for 2 days of fluids. Soooo...best thing is no laxative other than miralax, fruits &veggies and lots of walking. I also had horrible swelling in the vaginal area for 2 weeks because of the 36 lymph nodes removed for testing. However, now I have been back to work for a week, feel great, and it is starting to be just an unpleasant memory. Still a few sharp pains here and there, belly swells after I'm up most of the day, haven't dared to try my jeans yet...but all in all...there is sunshine on the other side! will be praying for u

Re: 9 days post-op

Oh wow danslady1! So sorry you had so many problems! Luckily, I've had normal BMs. Is 36 lymph nodes a normal amount?? The nurse said I'd probably have 6-10 removed. I haven't been to a post op check up yet. I'm so glad you're getting better though. I know what you mean about jeans, I had my first surgery in January so I don't know if I'll ever feel like wearing jeans again. My main concern now is new pains everyday, today I have mild pain in my low pelvic area when i stand after sitting. It doesn't last long, i just have to move more slowly today than I have. But I know with all the internal moving and stitches that things are working to get back in place & normal. Thanks for your replying. Praying that you continue to have better days. :-)

Re: 9 days post-op

I had stage 1b cervical cancer so my hyst was radical and I wasn't sure how many lymph nodes they would take but I was told 36 were taken and tested along with blood vessels..all tested negative praise God!! my gyn/onc was very thorough. Try not to stress about the new pains, I still have them. Lately my sides have been hurting?? What's the deal with that? The first couple of weeks I had a tight pulling sensation in my stomach when I would get up, week 3 I had a burning sensation in parts of my stomach but it all seems to be part of the healing. I have finally stopped spotting after 3 1/2 weeks of it! Still have a kind of raw, tingly feeling in my thighs. All in all I am feeling better as each day passes and you will too!
