Not allowed back to work yet!!!

I have been waiting for this day to get here. My post-op appt was today. I have been wanting to be released to go back to work for 2 weeks now since I am bored. Now I go to doctor and tell her about an ache (or feeling) I should say in my right side. It is right below the ribcage and then right above where the bikini line is. I had TVH so I don't have an incision that could hurt. She was all ready to send me back and then decided she wants an ultrasound. She don't think it is my gall bladder but says she isn't taking any chances. I would much rather be safe than sorry myself. For some reason I am sooo glad she is doing the ultra sound. I will feel better knowing there are pics of my insides so she can see them. I would feel this way even if I weren't having any pain.
So instead of going back to work Monday I can decorate my house for fall and clean she said. Just no lifting over 25 lbs now. Needless to say my boss didn't like it but agrees with the doctor that I need to be sure, 100% sure. My company don't allow us to come back under any restrictions unless it is a work related injury or illness so I will just enjoy another week at least. LOL

Enjoy the extra week off & have fun. I have no desire to go back to work. I was supposed to go back this past Tues. & my daughter woke up w/ a fever & couldn't go to school. I was secretly so happy. I love being home with the kids or doing the girly lunches with my friends... etc. Life goes by so fast & we just live w/this constant hustle & bustle. I'm tired of it. I miss being a stay at home mom, but my kids are no longer little (unfortunately).

Good for you for agreeing to take good care of yourself despite your boss' grumbling!!! So many people go back too soon and regret it because of so many different reasons, including major, MAJOR setbacks in recovery.

Good job, and enjoy the feeling of knowing you're doing something very good for yourself!
