Flu shots?

My mom asked me this yesterday.
She was wondering if my dr. had recommended a flu shot since I had just had surgery and possibly my immune system is run down.
My dr. hasn't said anything, yet

I already had my flu shot. Perhaps call your dr office and ask if there is any reason why you should *not* have a flu shot, and then go and have one. Your body needs all the breaks it can have right now, and not getting the flu is one of those breaks it needs, it seems to me!

I got my flu shot today, I get one every year as I have insulin-dependent diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, both of which are immune system diseases.

I look at it as inexpensive "insurance," especially as I teach at a university and am exposed to lots of "bugs."

I am 6 weeks post-op and just got this past Monday a flu shot.....odd the next day I got the gastrointestinal flu, but there are many strains of bugs so I doubt I got sick cause of the shot..I've gotten them for several years now without any problems.

When they were discharging me last Friday the nurse asked me if I'd like a flu shot - I declined - I thought it was strange to be offered to me - but I guess our bodies have gone through so much - I should've gotten it - better safe than sorry

I got mine... But I work for the Dept of Health..... we get it first !!!!!
