Swelly belly?

I'm having a Laparascopic/vaginal hyst on 13th June, it's just that several of the ladies I work with have had the procedure in the last few years, and when I asked them if they had swelly bellies, they said they had no problem with it, so am wondering what we do different over here?

Re: state by state , aussie sisters

I was meant to have Lap/vag but then they decided they would try only vag, I have swellybellly.... Im 11 weeks out today, I dont have much trouble now, still at the end of the night, my bellys alittle bit bigger... but nothing much... the first 6-8 weeks, it would swell quite alot, specialy if I had a real busy hard day......
and really I didnt have much 'belly pain',,, not like I thought I would, I just thought it would be more painful... dont get me wrong , it was sore, but nothing like I thought it would.

was more sore down below...

Oooh Tina, you are encouraging me no end I have booked 6 weeks off work, my boss keeps saying "But surely you'll be fine after 3?", so I've had to tell her in fairly clear terms that 6 weeks is 6 weeks, since I work as a bank teller and it's surprisingly physical! On the upside, HER boss, the new branch manager has had the procedure, and agrees with me, saying not to rush back, so I'm a bit reassured. Glad it's all going well for you

Re: state by state , aussie sisters

I hope it dosnt seem over the top, I just wanna be honest with how it was for me.

I was going to head back to work after 3 weeks, then over did things cause I was feeling so good, ended up being of 6 weeks, and that first week back was hard, we have those really high chairs for our work bench and I did find getting up and down of those every 5 mins, very hard and very sore by the end of the day, so if you can either sit, or stand, ( and not for long periods of time either) rather then up and down all the time, that might be easier. but be prepeared, you will be buggered,

wishing you all the best, and if theres anyway I can help, just let me know

Hi Trogdor! I had TVH in December and it's the best thing I did. You've done the right thing taking 6 weeks off. I did that and was ready for work. Many that go back early end up with problems that result in a longer recovery time. Don't be afraid to ask for help with shopping, cleaning etc. take the medication prescribed a d be kind to yourself. It's worth it in the long run!
