Pre-Op Today

I'm 28, and I'm scheduled for a TAH on November 28. I have my pre-op appt and cardiology appt, today. My doctor is hoping to save one of my ovaries, but he's not sure if he can. I feel like I'm going a million miles a minute , right now, trying to get everything ready before the 28th. I'm trying to get all my christmas shopping done and my christmas crafts. But I've been in to much pain to sit up or walk around the stores for to long.

All I want to do for the past couple of days is cry. I keep trying to keep busy (as much as my pain allows) but I still just want to cry. My family doesn't really understand what I'm going through.

Oh honey, I feel your pain! Just do what you are able to do and leave the rest up to your family to handle. I'm sorry too that they don't understand what you're going through. Really, unless they experience this pain for themselves they will never understand it entirely! Sending gentle hugs to you today! Best of luck to you with your upcoming surgery and recovery! Remember, take time for you!!!

Hi Dolphin,
I know how you feel! I'm 28 and my surgery date is Nov 30, hysterectomy and removal of both ovaries. There are moments where you think you can cope and then the next minute, tears are rushing and the pain is just horrible....just know that I am praying for you! I'm glad you found this site, I just found it yesterday and I do feel better being able to talk with women who can really relate. My family is being supportive, but yet, they really don't know what you're going thru, so this is the place! Big hugs to you, hang in there.

I totally know what you are going through. I am 29. I go to the castle on the 14th and I have been making lists, shopping, and going crazy to get everything done. My DH thinks I am thinking about it too much but this is how I cope. I make sure everything that can be done before is done. Noone in my family has been through this either and they are very supportive but they still don't understand. Just know that we are here for you and that God is with you at all times. I have to keep reminding myself that I put this in God's hands and I don't have to worry about it. Best of luck to you.

My parents are supportive. They're already trying to pamper me because of the pain. Everytime, I try to clean or do something I get yelled at. The only things they're letting me do right now is laundry (as long as I don't pick the baskets and hampers up) and babysit my sister's baby when all the other adults are at work. My dad get's upset when I go shopping (for christmas and to get things ready for my surgery), because it hurts to do to much walking. I'm going nuts just sitting around the house. I can't wait till I can go back to work.

Big S

Your family sounds great Since they won't let you do much maybe you could spend the time perfecting your princess skills Take long relaxing baths ( I love those ), read if you enjpy that, catch up on favorite movies..... Can you shop online? I love to do that!
By the way, I think that being emotional is normal. My emotions were all over the place when I was waiting for my surgery ( & I"m a LOT older than you ).

Unfortuanately, I can't shop on line. So, I take my pain pills and do as much as I can stand in one trip out.
