Anyone had an LSH

Hi ConnieK,

I had a LSH. I am one year post op and still very pleased with my surgery results.

I had surgery at 7:30 AM at an outpatient facility and went home the same day at 6:00 PM. I had the option to spend the night if my Dr. had wanted me to. I had two small hip incisions and a belly button incision. My Dr. cauterized my cervix so I do not have a mini-period in post-op. A small % of ladies get a mini-period in post-op if they keep the cervix and one or both ovaries.

In post-op, I got around pretty good the first two weeks. Just slowly. I went to the video store by day 3 and the market by day 5, with my DH or mom driving me. Could not drive for first two weeks due to prescription meds. I can suggest just get lots of R & R, drink lots of fluids and do some walking if you need exercise.

I went back to work at 2 weeks with my Dr's okay. 3 weeks would have been nice. I got a greenlight for all activities at 6 weeks.

I can suggest just say ~no~ to any activities in post-op that sound like too much. We LSH ladies look great on the outside and we are still healing on the inside. I think the first 6 weeks are the most important for healing.

Here is a brief link that goes over the LSH:

Best wishes,

Mary

Thank you for your input. Hope mine goes smooth also. Have tried to prepare family and dh. But hopefully up and going before I know it.

Thank you.

I had mine Monday. The cuts are so small and am feeling great. The healing seems to be faster.LAVH/BSO
