3 weeks out and still very tired.

HI all it is now 3 weeks since my ado total and I am still very tired. I am going to my GP on tuesday to find out when I can go back to work. I really hope I can go back soon as I am climbing the walls at home. I have plenty of study to do and with my insomnia each night I have plenty of time to do so. Is anyone else inthe same boat as I am. If so are you taking anything to help. I took 4 tamazapam the other night an still didnt go to sleep. Hope all of the August sisters are coping at this stage.

Kindest Regards

Kerry

3 weeks out and still very tired.

I developed bronchitis after surgery. Some nights I had trouble sleeping because of coughing but other nights I just couldn't fall asleep. For almost a week I made a schedule of making a glass of hot milk with nesquick about an hour before bed. Then I would use my inhaler(asthma) and take a dose of Nyquil. By bedtime I wasn't coughing anymore and was more than ready to go to sleep. I was glad when the coughing let up since I don't like the feeling I have the morning after taking Nyquil. I don't really have sleeping trouble usually so my suggestions might not help someone who does have trouble. The hot milk with nesquick seems to really help me. I can feel my muscles relax while I am drinking it and everyone has always told me warm milk helps with sleeping. Maybe I have just trained myself to think it helps me.....who knows? but since it seems to help I do it pretty much every night.

Good luck to you!

Hi,I have also had insomnia, it is crazy. I just lay in bed and look at the ceiling. My Dr.said it was the hormones, so I upped my estrogen and it did help a little. I am taking bioidentical HRT. I refuse to take synthentic, I get too many side effects. I did try to take a sleeping pill, but it did nothing. Are you using any HRT? If so, you may need to adjust the dosage. Good Luck.

Hi Kerry
I want to caution you against hurrying things too much. Three weeks is very early to be returning to work. I'm concerned you will regret it. I see in your profile you are a fire fighter. This isn't exactly a desk job, although they are very diffucult at 3 weeks too.
Your body is still healing and adjusting. You could be having some hormone fluctuation that's effecting your sleep. You need to talk to your dr and see if you can get some help. Most will prescribe something to get you through. It looks as if you still have your ovaries. Hopefully they will adjust and you'll be sleeping again soon.
Give your body the time it needs to heal. In the long run I think you will be glad.

Hello Kerry,

Being tired at 3 weeks is normal. You have had major surgery. It took about 6 weeks before I would sleep through the night.

Let your body rest because doing too much can cause a setback in the healing process.

Good Luck,
Darlene
