LAVH: Total Hysterectomy (LAVH) Scheduled for 8/4

Hi all! I found HysterSisters when researching my upcoming surgery. I'm so glad I did! My surgery is scheduled for Monday, 8/4, first thing in the morning. My doctor is doing a LAVH removing my uterus, cervix, and both tubes. I look forward to chatting with all of you!

I am sorry you have to have a hysterectomy, but glad you found this site.

I know this is an overwhelming experience, and it is hard to know even where to start.

As I an sure you know, this is MAJOR SURGERY. Recovery can take a while - think weeks and not days. You will need help at home with dishes, laundry, shopping, driving, cooking, etc. You will also need to take time off work - how long depends on how fast you recover and your job duties.
