Re: Concerned and need input

Hi! I had an endometrial ablation in 2000 and it lasted for almost 8 years! No periods/no pain! It was great! I was home for I think two weeks to recover. I did have spotting for almost a week or so, but then it just stopped. Towards the end I started to spot and then right back to periods. They were not bad, however, I had since had fibroids and boy the pain! My periods came back and the pain was horrendous! I had my second ablation in September 2010 and still the pain and periods continue. My periods now last 5 to 7 days whereas they lasted 3 to 4 days. I am now 50 years old and I am undecided on whether to continue with the pain or have a hysterectomy. I'm just scared because my next step is a hysterectomy.

I'm just saying I had no problems with my first ablation. However, my doctor said the end results vary from woman to woman. A second opinion always helps too.

I can't offer much but I loved having no period for 8 years! Now I feel horrible again and now have to face the fact that I need a hysterectomy.

I hope this helps you.
