6.5 weeks post hysterectomy - bleeding, horrible pain and nausea after intimacy

Hi ladies.
Just had sex for the first time since surgery (6 1/2 weeks post op). I have had the best recovery, no issues, no pain (except C02 gas pains the first 5 days), have been working since post op day 14 and have had no problems.
Sooo, back to sex... The beginning was fine, and then I started feeling a lot of pressure in my abdomen. My partner was extremely cautious and gentle ( he is not small...). I climaxed and immediately felt a sharp pain where the vaginal cuff should be. He stopped and had me get up only to find blood in the bed.
The pain was horrible! Felt like my entire pelvic floor was on fire. I walked to the loo and was able to urinate, just had really bad pain, almost like I had gas pains, as well as pain above my pelvic sutures (inside). I put on a pad and laid down. The blood had not worsened, it had subsided, but now I am shaky and nauseous
I have a heating pad on my belly and am sitting on the couch with my feet up.
Did any of you encounter this the first time you had sex after lavh ?
Please share if you have so I don't go crazy...

Re: Week 6 1/2 post op

I will just say this. Experimented with manual at about 4 weeks, attempted intercourse at 5 (slow and not deep), and had fantastic sex yesterday. 1 day shy of my 6 week. Yes, I know but the spotting stopped and were careful. No pain this time except for moving my body in stretchy ways I have not done in 6 weeks lol. Climax can trigger muscles you havent used in a while...

My guess is you probably should have stopped when you felt pressure. You just described my biggest fear. Call your dr in the AM. Did you go in for a 6 week followup?

Good luck!!!!

Re: Week 6 1/2 post op

Hi! Went in for 2 and 4 week follow up. Everything was perfect. I got the all clear for sex at 6 weeks and yes I should have stopped when I felt pressure.
Still lightly spotting, pain in lower back and belly (like C02 gas pains).
Talked to my Doc and she said to take it super easy.
You were not in any pain at all? I have waited so long to finally be intimate with my bf, now he feels really bad...and is very trepidatious to try again (not tonight!!!!) for fear of hurting me. Just in pain and regret at making him feel like he caused me pain...

6.5 weeks post hysterectomy - bleeding, horrible pain and nausea after intimacy

Hi 8 wk post op here. No I did not encounter any of that my first time of sex post op. But my dr made me wait 7 wks not 6 because I was still tender in there when she checked me on my post op appt. My husband is not small either but I had no pain and did not bleed. I also have not had the dry encounter either. Maybe ur dr can check on ur surgery area to make sure it's healing properly.[/font]
