Hormone Therapy and Gall Bladder Disease

Hey Ladies!

Has anyone ever had gall bladder disease due to hormone replacement therapy? I am going to the doctor on Monday. I think I have gall bladder issues. Horrible pain under rib cage, causes me to get sick. I throw up bile. It just makes me feel yucky. Plus, on top of that it makes me have migraines.

I was just wondering if this was normal. I am very concerned about my pain and my vomitting issues. I have almost all the symptoms of gall bladder disease.

I will let you all know what the outcome is but I was just wondering. I am currently taking estratest and have been since my surgery almost 5 years ago.

Thanks.

Re: Hormone Therapy and Gall Bladder Disease

Estrogen replacement is associated with a slightly higher incidence of gallstones -- especially oral estrogen replacement. Perhaps you could switch to a transdermal form of HRT and see if that helps?

Let us know what the DR says, OK?

s,
-Linda
