6 week checkup?

Just curious about what happens at the 6 week checkup. I had a TAH and wondered how the Dr. knows whether everything is healing fine. Does she do a pelvic? Use lapriscope? Ultrasound?

6 week checkup?

I don't know what they do at 6 weeks but I had my 3 weeks yesterday and the doctor did a pelvic exam. I'm sure they won't use a laparoscope since that is invasive surgery. I'm guessing just another pelvic exam to make sure the vaginal cuff has healed.

6 week checkup?

I had my 6 week appt on Monday. My GYN did a pelvic exam, and looked at the incision. Everything looked good, all healed. She answered my questions...I was also cleared to resume all regular activities, and sex.

Made an appt for 6 month post-op checkup.

6 week checkup?

I had my 4 week postop exam on the 18th. My GYN did a pelvic exam, looked at my incision and answered all the questions I had.

He released me back to work as much as I wanted, OK'd having sex. When he was doing the pelvic exam, with my feet in the stirrups, he all of a sudden said "WOW"!! I wondered what was going on and after he finished examining me, he told me I was a 4-week wonder woman, as on the inside I was almost totally healed, he told me he almost never sees total healing at 4 weeks! I knew that I had been feeling like my old self, and this confirmed it!! ( By the way, DH and I took care of "business" and it was great, no pain AT ALL!) LOL

I think a lot of the credit for the fast recovery is this web site and all the good advice I got from the posts - most especially taking it easy, resting when you need to. In other words, doing exactly what your doctor says!!

6 week checkup?

thanks for your feedback. I had a 2 week checkup and in June will have a 6 week and 8 week checkup then hopefully I will be released for light duty. I have been resting and doing light walking so hope that I am healing inside.
