8 days til Castle-OVERWHELMED!!!!!

Well, the real countdown has begun. And, only 8 days till the big day. I am completely overwhelmed. I still have the Christmas decorating to do, presents to wrap (luckily, the shopping is DONE!!) I am the only paralegal in a very busy lawfirm, and I have SO MUCH to get caught up on, the list is endless. Any ideas from anyone how not to stress out so much before this surgery. I don't want to wear myself completely down, because I fear that the recovery will be much worse.

Any words of encouragement and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

8 days til Castle-OVERWHELMED!!!!!

Hiya Stacy!

I felt the same way, only I didn't have as much time as you do to 'save the world' before going into the castle. I say that because now I look back and realize I didn't get done every little thing I thought HAD to be done before my surgery. And guess what? Turns out, the earth didn't blow up or anything!

Try to take one thing at a time, getting the rest of the list OFF your mind while you take care of the one thing. Then move on to the next item on your list. This goes for all things home and work related. Take your time, take it easy, and know that you can only do what you can do. Sounds silly, but it's true if you think about it.

I found it very difficult to focus on anything very well myself, the week before surgery. This can be tough on the emotions! I hope it helps you, just knowing you are not alone and that so many of us have been where you are now.

Hang in there, sweetie; try to relax and focus on priorities and taking one thing at a time.

Stacy,
First I would like to give you a I understand how much anxiety you're feeling right now. What helped me too prepare for the castle is getting my house prepared, then my packing. Also chatting with the sisters here in chatroom was a lifesaver as well. I'm not sure when your last day of work is, but the most important thing is that soon you'll be feeling better. I realize that there's plenty of work you would like too complete before your last working day, just do what you can and try not to get overwhelmed, because you'll need all your strength throughout the recovery process. Also pamper yourself, take nice bubble baths, get your nails done, anything you enjoy that's relaxing... Please feel free to join us in chat, there's so many supportive sisters there.
