4 More Days & Ultrasound

Today I went for a final ultrasound. I told my Dr that I wanted to keep my ovaries, and he wanted to have a look to see if that would be a possiblility. So far, so good- my ovaries looked good. My technician described my fibroid in all its glory to me, and by golly it turns out I have twins! One behind the other, and pressing into my uterus and causing bleeding, bleeding and more bleeding even after 2 rounds of lupron.

I am being pre-admitted the day before surgery, and no bowl prep for me! I've been on Weight Watchers for about 2 1/2 months (since I found out I REALLLY WAS going to have a hysterectomy) and I've lost 20lbs. This was my goal to get healthy before the operation. I'm going to do my best to continue a healthy way of eating after the surgery (I still have many pounds to lose!), and I hope I'll have a little extra bonus-weight-loss when they take everything out.

Anyway, I'm beginning to be a little nervous now, and I'm so grateful for this website and for the wonderful people who are part of it. I have read all advise about what to take to the hospital and how to cope with recovery and I am going to try to keep an optimistic frame of mind- with God's help.

So thank you all for answering my questions and just for being here! I hope I can help others the same way in the near future.

4 More Days & Ultrasound

We have the same date. I had my pre-op with my doctor, only took my blood pressure, signed lots of papers and asked a few questions, she didn't mention bowel prep and I didn't want to give her any ideas! Tomorrow I will have to call the hospital back for my over the phone pre-op with them as I missed their call today. I am hoping to keep my ovaries too. I hope yours were easier to find than mine were.
