Re: the worry is killing me

I sure hope your surgery goes as well as is possible and that you have an easy recovery. I am waiting to have mine on the 2nd of Feb. Was supposed to be the 19th too! I am mostly worried about the fact it is a vag surgery even though I have two cysts. I had a 10cm cyst removed last year and I signed for full hysterectomy then- but they only took one fallopian tube and the cyst. I have pre-cancerous cells, and am surprised that this doctor is very sure it will go fine doing it vaginally. Last time I was cut open from one side to the other- and the recovery seemed long. I am hoping the recovery with not having so much cutting will be easier. I will be watching your posts to see how you are doing. Best wishes to you and take good care.

Re: the worry is killing me

There comes a point when you need to stop worrying. Ask yourself this: have I gotten a second opinion, perhaps even a third? Do I feel comfortable with my surgeon, and have I reviewed all my options?
For myself, I saw the doc, had the tests done, got a second opinion read books, found hystersisters. Then I cancelled the surgery. I had some discomfort but not real pain. I talked to my regular doctor, and my husband made a good point-you can think and worry too much. Ask a hundred doctors, you get a hundred opinions- many of which will conflict.
If you feel safe, do what is right. I saw the doc six months after my original appointment, and then I had the surgery six weeks later.

Re: the worry is killing me

I am with you. I have moved my surgery two times now and can no longer delay it. I am scared and worried and mine is a month away!! I try to think about the positives. My support systems is weak, I do ave one friend who just had her hysterectomy and she has been amazing. Good luck, try not to worry (haha I know). It will all work out just fine.

Re: the worry is killing me

I think waiting is the hard part. Just the anxiety of moment building. Hopefully when you go in and get it done you will look back and think..why was I sooo worried! Try to meditate or read or keep your mind busy with things you enjoy doing. You will be just fine!

Re: the worry is killing me

For me the difficulty is with my doctor. I want the surgery done laproscopically and he is insiisting that he will be cutting my stomach. My insurance limits who I can go to and I feel stuck, like he just wants to do what is easiest for him and not me. Anxiety is very high.

Re: the worry is killing me

My surgery is tomorrow at 07:30 and I am so freakin excited!!! I have positive thoughts and know this is the best thing for me and my body. After having a year+ of softball size bloods clots just pouring out of me, I finally got a new doctor to LISTEN to ME and MY NEEDS!!!! After 3 c-sections my Doctor will go in via their scars. Asked for a tummy tuck and she just laughed. Guess she didn't realize I was serious...LOL
Breathe in Strength exhale out Calm. It's going to be alright

Re: the worry is killing me

Thank you to everyone. It is so great to be able to talk about what we are going through with each other. I have decided to work up until the 19th just so i cant just sit around and think about the surgery all the time. like you say once its done, it can only get better. The doctor said that my fibroid is very large, so she is going to attempt to get it laproscopically first but if she cant than she will have to cut, so i guess i wont really know what to expect til i wake up. Your support and prayers are very much appreciated. and i will pray for everyone as well.
