If you keep your cervix

Does anyone know if you keep your cervix, if the cervical fluid discharge stays the same as pre-op?

I actually have issues with having way too much cervical fluid. Around the time I ovulate, if I didn't wear a pantyliner or pad, I would be wet enough to drench underwear and through jeans etc. Throughout the whole cycle though, I do have enough discharge to wet my underwear daily and if I don't wear pantyliners, I tend to change several times a day.

I have to wear a pad when I run becuase that makes it come out more. I am certain it is cervical fluid and not urine.

I have had several doctors notice this while doing gyn exams, however, I've been tested for every infection etc and they all come back normal.

I just have a lot of cervical fluid!

Anyways, does anyone know if I were to have a hysterectomy, but keep the cervix, if the cervical fluid would lessen any?

Re: If you keep your cervix

Hi, I do not have a direct answer for you but I did read a post about a week ago regarding the same problem. I believe she was post op and posted a question regarding the safety of wearing a tampon post op. I thought maybe you might learn something from that thread or member. I guess your doctors do not have a solid answer. Good luck

Re: If you keep your cervix

I just had LSH with cervix retained last week, and I am having A LOT of fluid where I do need a liner. I believe I read that only when the cervix is removed there's a chance you may have dryness. No such luck for me. LOL
