Going crazy 3 weeks post op and Dr's no help.

Ok frustrated as heck and need to rant. I am 3 weeks post op from my LAVH with posterior repairs, monarch sling, and perineoplasty. I am regretting the perineoplasty, I would have rather dealt with the scar tissue etc that the continuing perineal pain. Plus I am still bleeding which is just frustrating. I also think I am losing my mind. I called the doctor and suggested maybe that my ovaries aren't kicking back in and her MA called back today and said that the Dr said it must just be depression and lack of sleep, that I am too young to have any issues with my ovaries. HELLO??? Here is what is going on. Since getting home I have been a complete insomniac. I am exhausted and feel like I could sleep all the time but I can't. Taking a nap is almost impossible. At night I lay in bed till all hours staring at the ceiling. I even was prescribed Ambien from my primary and it doesn't even touch me, not even 2 of them. Now before surgery I could sleep anywhere at anytime and for however long. The longer the better. I am up by 8 so it's not like I am getting to much sleep in the am or anything. I also have gotten progressively worse as far as the way I feel. I constantly have this feeling like Im jumping out of my skin. I snap at the simplest things. I am on my Wellbutrin just as normal so this isn't anything depression wise. My hot flashes are ten times more than before surgery. My heart is always racing, they took it at the GI doc after me sitting for 20 minutes and it was 136. Last night as I sat on the couch I could feel my heart getting fast again, this time 128 at peak. I am also losing my hair but even more so as before surgery.

Please ladies tell me I am not alone, tell me that my Dr is wrong or something before I lose my mind.

Re: Going crazy 3 weeks post op and Dr's no help.

Have you asked for Xanax. It sounds like panic attacks. I am that way also, the more you get upset about wanting to go to sleep the more you don't and the more you get panicky that you need sleep. Maybe ask the nurse to see if you can try that. I take one and it knocks me out. Good luck. I know how you feel. Can't help w/the hot flashes. Sorry.
