Sharp burning pain post-op

I had a LAVH 12/07/11 and I was amazed at how little pain I was having until I woke up yesterday..
Today was even worse sharp burning pain low left side.
If you asked me did you over do it the answer would probably be yes I have 20 month old twins and a five year old girl..
I was just wanted suggestions on how to make it stop..
Thanks I am so happy I found this site, I don't know anyone my age I can talk to about this I feel kind of lost and my husband bless his heart tries but has no idea what I am going through.

Re: Sharp burning pain post-op

I'm sure you have your hands full with the kids!!! You probably did over do it. You need to rest!!! I know that is easier said than done with children that young at home. Is there anyone that can come over and help you with them? You really do need your rest.

If your pain persists, I would call your just to make sure everything is okay. And watch out for any changes in bleeding. That is usually a pretty good indicator that you over did it and probably need to be seen.

I would lay down and rest as much as possible. Take it easy for a few days and see how you feel. This is the time you need to be taking care of YOU!! If you really feel like something is wrong, you should put a call into the doc as soon as you can!

to you and

Thanks so much for reply. I lay down every chance I get. I'm lucky in fact I have had zero bleeding and the pain has been minimal until lately. I'm a week out today so I'm sure I have long way to go I'm taking one step at a time...

That is all any of us can really do!! Just know that there will be days that you feel great, and then BOOM out of nowhere, you feel like you have taken a huge leap in the wrong direction. This is normal. It is a long recovery time and it is hard to be patient, but like you said...one step at a time.

Re: Sharp burning pain post-op

Be patient and kind to yourself. You had major surgery. Take a pain pill and lay down with a pillow tucked up against your belly. I found having another pillow between my knees helped. I hope you have plenty of help and do not pick up your kids!

Re: Sharp burning pain post-op

I'm trying to be kind to myself and rest as much as possible but I have no help until my husband gets home its just me and the twins. Very hard to do what I need to do for myself and take care of them because they will always win.
