i know it is different for everyone here, but; is there anyone experiencing abdominal pain all the time. i am in bed 80% of the day. my surgery is set for july 19th. i keep thinking there is something else wrong with me. i know i do not really need to be concerned about this because it will be taken care of. some days i feel like i am not going to live long enough -- but i know better.

I am here with you!

My TAH/BSo is set for July 16th after being rescheduled 3 times due to doctors! I too am in pain 24/7. I am taking vicodan and can't wait to get his over and done with.

Did your doctor give you anything for the pain now? If not you should call him and ask for something.

I am trying to get done what I can. I tire easily. MY doctors told me to take a multivitamin twice a day and 500 mg of Vitamin C twice a day, you might ask yours if that is a good idea for you.

I am with you here suffering, just counting down the days wishing this was all behind me!

Good luck!
You can e-mail me too if you just want to talk.

pre-op pain

I just wanted you to know that before my hyst on 7/14/02 I was in pain constantly. Not excruciating but a constant, dull pain in my abdomen and on my left side. I am 2 weeks and 2 days post op and I do not feel the pain that led to my surgery!!! Yippee! There is hope. Hang in there. It is already all worth it in my book.

constant pain here!

I am going in July 2 for a TLAVH-BSO and I am in constant sever pain all the time. I am taking Tylenol w/codeine and Vicodin. Plus am taking 800mg of Ibuprofen. Doesnt help. Hang in there. It will get better. That is what I keep telling myself everyday. If you need to chat go to the chatroom, it is the best thing. It really helped me and still is. Hang in there.

pre-op pain

I'm another one who's in almost constant pain.

Unfortunately, my doctor has assured me he will NOT prescribe me any more narcotics until after my surgery. He's a D.O, and is NOT a fan of medication. Nice, eh?

I'm taking Tylenol #3, when it's really bad - it's my last script, so I'm spreading them out rather thinly. I'm buffering that with ibuprofen.

One thing I've found that helps is those sports gel-heat things....they come in a fabric waist sling, that adjuts to even MY size (and I'm a gorgeously large girl!), and you just zap the bag in the microwave, pop it into the sling, and wear it. Nice, warm heat on my left side

Hang in there - it's going to be over soon!
