whats that smell

Im exactly 3 weeks post da Vinci and I went to work for 6 hours today (last week I did 4 hour days) and pretty much all day at work and now that im home I stink down there! Ive had very light spotting but nothing to really see mostly clear liquid but because of the smell I keep changing my panty liner. I did slip and fall on ice before work is it because of that... over doing it at work... or is this horrible smell (like something died up there) all part of the healing process? I just feel so gross! Oh and ive showered twice and its still there

Re: whats that smell

it is normal! I had the da Vinci 7 1/2 weeks ago... and yes.. there was a smell and it is the tissue healing, stitches dissolving, etc. At about 5 weeks, you will have (well at least I did) bleeding again, dark brown and another odd smell, but not a strong smell. My doc told me that it was text book normal and that it was the "dead" tissue leaving the body. Hang in there! It will get better.

Re: whats that smell

The smell may be normal, and it may not. I thought I had a horrible smell, but my DH and doctor disagreed. One of the big warning signs of infection is a foul odor. If you really feel that you have a foul odor, you might want to let your doctor know so you can find out if it is normal for you. In my case, it was just old blood, and I thought it was horrible. However, other ladies have posted that their foul odor turned out to be infection. Better to be safe than sorry! Give the doc a call.
